Our Story
Owner/Pitmaster
Pitmaster Russell Roegels has spent more than 30 years behind the smoker — from Bodacious Bar-B-Q in Longview, to running the Houston branch of Baker's Ribs, to building Roegels Barbecue Co. from this Voss Road pit in 2014. Salt, pepper, post oak, and brisket sliced to order. Named to Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ Joints (2017; honorable mention 2021 and 2025), a multi-year Houston Chronicle Top 100 restaurant, featured on The Texas Bucket List, and ranked #15 by Tales from the Pits.

My first visit and it is amazing. The brisket was perfect and I was privileged to get the end cut. So flavorful ribs are just as good. I was told that I need to get the Ruben so I did for later. It is supposed to be the best in Texas. I have no doubt it will be

This is the best brisket I've eaten in my life. The meat is fall-apart tender, with just the right amount of smokey flavor. The sides are very good too. I tried the Texas caviar and was not disappointed. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious! I believe the 3 meat plate is the best bargain... Gives you a chance to try a lot. We got pork belly, brisket, and pork ribs. We had to try the sausage so we got a side order of it.

Food is delicious, super tasty! Very fast service, I saw a recommendation online to check out this place and the timing was working for me, but today finally worked and I do not regret... Just by seeing the pictures I'm hungry again haha
